Your brand isn’t just about logos, colors, or fonts—it’s about you. Your story, quirks, and passions are what set you apart. When you weave you into your brand, you create something no one else can replicate: authenticity. Let’s find your unique voice and make it shine!
Step 1: Dig into Your Story
Think back to why you started your business. What problem were you trying to solve? What makes you passionate about it? Write down:
What inspired you to start this journey?
What values drive your work?
How do you want your customers to feel when they engage with your brand?
Example: “I started my sustainable skincare brand because I struggled to find natural products that actually worked for sensitive skin. My core values? Transparency, sustainability, and empowering people to love their skin.”
Step 2: Embrace Your Quirks
Your quirks are your secret weapon—they make you memorable. Do you love vintage aesthetics? Obsessed with coffee? A night owl who works best at 2 AM? Don’t hide it—highlight it!
Identify 2-3 personal traits or quirks that feel you.
Think about how they connect to your brand vibe.
Example: “I’m a total nature nerd who spends weekends hiking and testing DIY plant-based skincare recipes. My love for botanicals and science comes through in every product—simple, clean ingredients inspired by the outdoors."
Step 3: Find Your Voice
Your brand voice is how you connect with your audience. Are you warm and conversational? Professional but playful? Write down:
3 adjectives that describe your voice (e.g., approachable, witty, empowering).
A short sentence or tagline that sums up your brand personality.
Example: “My voice is natural, reassuring and informative—like your trusted friend who’s obsessed with skincare. I break down science into simple, easy-to-follow advice so you can feel confident about what you’re putting on your skin.”
Step 4: Put It All Together
Now, combine your story, quirks, and voice into a simple brand message. This will guide everything—from your website copy to social media captions.
Template: “I started [business name] because [your story]. I believe in [your values]. My brand is [your quirks + voice], helping [who you serve] to [what you help them achieve].”
Example: “I started Wild Bloom Skincare because I wanted clean, effective skincare solutions for people like me with sensitive skin. I believe in sustainability and natural beauty. My brand blends science-backed formulas with a love for nature, helping people to feel confident in their own skin."
